Elections in America: 2026

Good day to each of you reading this column on elections in America and where we stand today.

If you will, turn to your Bible as I will use Isaiah the first chapter as my reference.

As you read this book, you are first introduced to a vision given to Isaiah from God concerning both Judah and Jerusalem.

If you have been reading my columns in the past, you will see that the USA has all so many similarities to Israel and that I believe that Manasseh is the USA. I have read various verses in the Bible that lead me to this conclusion.

As we embark on voting day, we are being bombarded with television, internet and radio ads from the candidates. As you listen to these candidates, and I mean truly listen to the candidates, do you believe they can deliver what they said?

Can your candidate reduce taxes, lower your grocery bill, make gasoline more affordable, help the poor in need, raise the standard of living, put money in your pocket and assist you in your savings?

Can your candidate fix the health care system and have they explained how & when this will happen? Is your candidate wide eyed or just shooting for the stars as they speak?

Yes, we have the Democratic & Republican parties along with various other parties, but when you look at those presently in office, what do you conclude?

Are you not in agreement that both parties argue, backbite, call each other names, lie and slander toward each other. By the way, we are told that we are a cultural people and yet we act like spoiled & rebellious children who pout when we don’t get our way.

Tell me, has your candidate professed their faith, pushed for prayer back in the schools, the Ten Commandments read in the schools and nothing to do with transgender rights?

As for the abortion issue, why does government need to be involved? Where is the Christian politician who will tell the government to get their nose out of this issue and place it to those who face this issue. If you are a Christian and if you are a Christian pastor, then why don’t you speak against this issue and let people know that God has said Thou shalt not kill and destroy the evil idol, Molech!

Has your candidate said they wish to abolish the IRS? Have they given an idea as to when and how? If we tithe and give to God what he says, then he will bless us, but as God says in Malachi 3:7-9 (NIV) 7 Ever since the time of your ancestors you have turned away from my decrees and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you,” says the Lord Almighty.

“But you ask, ‘How are we to return?’

8 “Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me.

“But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’

“In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me.

Robbery to God, yes very strong words, but words that need to be heeded, so are you robbing God? Have you heard these words from your candidate or even your pastor?

Have you heard any humility from your candidates or has your candidate engaged in backbiting, calling the other candidates names, lying and slandering, instead of speaking about the issues that are facing us each day.

Look at Isaiah 1:2 (NIV) Hear me, you heavens! Listen, earth!
    For the Lord has spoken:
“I reared children and brought them up,
    but they have rebelled against me.

Rebellion and sin are rampant and yet we allow criminals to go into jail only to be turned back on the streets that very afternoon. Oh candidate, have you given the people a plan to stop this and revere to God’s laws, commandments and statutes concerning crimes and punishment?

The answer is simple and is found in verse 3 (NIV) The ox knows its master,
    the donkey its owner’s manger,
but Israel does not know,
    my people do not understand.”

4 Woe to the sinful nation,
    a people whose guilt is great,
a brood of evildoers,
    children given to corruption!
They have forsaken the Lord;
    they have spurned the Holy One of Israel
    and turned their backs on him.

Do you hear this from your candidate or have we become so callous and stiff necked that we have forsaken the Lord?

America, heed the following words found in verse 7 (NIV) Your country is desolate,
    your cities burned with fire;
your fields are being stripped by foreigners
    right before you,
    laid waste as when overthrown by strangers.

America, look at New York City, Chicago or Minneapolis and you will see the desolation of a once thriving community that is becoming a wasteland filled with violent crimes and overthrown by strangers or illegal immigrants who have come to America.

And has your candidate spoken about foreigners buying our land? Here is what AI says: Entities from Canada and Europe hold the most U.S. land. Canadian investors hold around 16.1 million acres while European countries combined hold more than 18 million acres of U.S. farmland. Chinese investment in U.S. farmland has been a large topic of conversation.

Do you think that politicians should keep their religious views separate when running for office? Have we held those running for office or presently in office accountable for the promises they made in the past? Why do we not have term limits for those in office? Is their position to be a lifelong position?

So, what did our writers of our constitution do for a living? According to AI:

Occupations of the U.S. Constitution’s Writers

The men who drafted and signed the U.S. Constitution came from a wide range of professions, reflecting their roles as leaders, property owners, and public officials in the 18th‑century American colonies and states National Park Service.

Most common occupations

  • Lawyers / legal professionals – About 22 of the 39 signers were lawyers or had legal training, though not all made law their sole income. Examples include James Madison, Gouverneur Morris, and John Dickinson National Park Service.
  • Businessmen, merchants, and shippers – Eleven were merchants or involved in trade, such as Robert Morris (financier and merchant) and Samuel Slater National Park Service.
  • Landowners and planters – Eleven owned or managed slave‑operated plantations or large farms, including George Washington, Charles Cotesworth Pinckney, and Thomas Jefferson National Park Service.
  • Speculators – Several were major land speculators or invested in securities, such as Robert Morris and John Rutledge National Park Service.
  • Small farmers – A few, like Broom and Few, were small‑scale farmers National Park Service.

Public service roles

Many had extensive political experience:

  • Over 33 had served in the Continental Congress; 11 had been governors or held other state executive offices National Park Service.
  • Several had also served in the Revolutionary War, often in leadership roles National Park Service.
  • Some, like Madison and Rutledge, earned significant income from public office National Park Service.

Other notable roles

  • Judges – A few had become judges after their political careers National Park Service.
  • Specialized skills – Jacob Shallus, the calligrapher who hand‑wrote the original parchment copy of the Constitution, was an assistant clerk to the Pennsylvania General Assembly Wikipedia.

In summary:

The Constitution’s writers were a mix of lawyers, merchants, landowners, speculators, small farmers, and public officials, many with overlapping careers in politics, business, and the military. Their diverse backgrounds and experiences in governance, commerce, and land management shaped the debates and compromises that produced the Constitution National Park Service+1.

Here is what exploros said about those who framed our constitution: https://www.exploros.com/summary/the-framers-of-the-constitution

The Founding Fathers of the United States were political leaders who participated in the American Revolution. They signed the Declaration of Independence, took part in the Revolutionary War, and established the Constitution. The Framers of the Constitution were delegates to the Constitutional Convention and helped draft the Constitution of the United States. The main Founding Fathers were: John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and George Washington.

Almost all the delegates to the Constitutional Convention had taken part in the Revolution. They also had extensive political experience. Four-fifths of the delegates had been in the Continental Congress. Nearly all the fifty-five delegates had experience in colonial and state government.

The delegates practiced a wide range of high and middle status occupations. More than half the delegates had trained as lawyers, although only about a quarter had practiced law as their principal career. Other professions included merchants, manufacturers, shippers, land speculators, bankers or financiers, physicians, a minister, and several small farmers.

Most of the delegates were landowners with substantial holdings, and most were comfortably wealthy. George Washington and Governor Morris were among the wealthiest men in the entire country.

The Founding Fathers had strong educational backgrounds at some of the colonial colleges or abroad. Some, like Franklin and Washington, were largely self-taught or learned through apprenticeship. Others had obtained instruction from private tutors or at academies. About half of the men had attended or graduated from college.

According to Wall Builders:

More than 250 individuals are considered Founding Fathers. These include those who signed the Declaration of Independence and/or the Constitution, played a role in drafting the Bill of Rights, served as state governors, commanded military forces during the War for Independence, etc. A more precise definition of those we consider Founding Fathers is given in our book Original Intent.

The vast majority of our Founders were God-fearing men, and most were Christians. But even though they are the exception, today’s critics typically focus on only a few Founding Fathers with less pronounced religious beliefs, such as Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson. Americans often know very little about the more numerous and noteworthy Christian Founders. For example, most people are unaware that 29 of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence possessed qualifications that would now be considered equivalent to Bible school degrees. Many of them also regularly and openly expressed their personal faith – men such as Benjamin Rush, John Adams, Charles Carroll of Carrollton, John Jay, John Hancock, and many more. It’s important to emphasize that none of the Founders adopted secular worldviews.

Turn to Wall Builders:

For decades accusations against the Founding Fathers have abounded. One of the common criticisms is that the Founding Fathers were a collective group of atheists, agnostics, and or deists who wanted a strict separation of church and state, resulting in a secular government and public square. Some go as far as foolishly writing that these allegations are so evident that no actual evidence or proof is needed to substantiate their claims. While these charges are blatantly false, it can likewise be acknowledged that not every Founding Father or early American leader would fit in the category of born-again Christian (although most of them would). However, the overwhelming majority of Founding Fathers and early leaders wrote openly, and often about the influence of Christianity, the Bible and Jesus on their lives. While the following examples do not give the complete story of the faith journey of the individuals included in this list, these quotes and excerpts do give a glimpse into the thinking of these men. We encourage you to follow the footnotes and dig deeper into the writings of the Founding Fathers!

Please take the time to read what our founding fathers said in relation to framing our constitution and forming this great republic known as America.

You will recognize the names and from their quotes, they were born again Christians and very knowledgeable when it came to building this republic.

Men, drawn from various walks of life, who probably argued as they stated their case, but resolving their issues for the purpose of one nation under God.

I must believe our forefathers may have been reading the following verses: 18-20 (NIV) “Come now, let us settle the matter,”
    says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
    they shall be like wool.
19 If you are willing and obedient,
    you will eat the good things of the land;
20 but if you resist and rebel,
    you will be devoured by the sword.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

Our forefathers had just finished the Revolutionary war and they were not devoured by the sword for they were willing and obedient to their creator. Men, who were ready to settle any and all matters that faced this very young nation with the guidance and discernment given from God.

Do you ask for discernment in all matters and have you asked for wisdom from God? As you decide on your candidate, ask your self if you truly think the candidate is sincere, truthful, and able to deliver the promises they made in writing as well as in word.

Have we, as a nation, accepted that evil is good and that good is evil? Here is another verse to consider which is verse 23:

Your rulers are rebels,
    partners with thieves;
they all love bribes
    and chase after gifts.
They do not defend the cause of the fatherless;
    the widow’s case does not come before them.

As you examine who represents you, are they rebels and have they partnered with thieves? Have they been bought by the lobbyists who will influence their vote? Where do you draw the line between government and biblical principles? Have those in office been true to their word or have they misled you?

Why is it that we fall for politicians who promise the world and give nothing in return? Why do we put our faith in those who are career politicians as we watch them begin running for the next term the minute, they get into office?

Does your candidate backbite? According to https://www.gotquestions.org/Bible-backbiting.html

The definition of backbiting is “talking maliciously about someone who is not present.” To backbite is to gossip about someone behind his or her back. Secret slander is the essence of backbiting, and it is strongly condemned in the Bible.

Look at Romans 1:29-32 (NIV) 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

Examine those in office and those who are running for office and ask yourself, are they full of envy, strife, deceit or malice? Do they gossip or slander their fellow constituents? Are they arrogant and boastful?

We may have leaders who are closet God-haters and find ways of doing evil to further their own agenda—I don’t know but God knows and every person will stand before him.

Fellow Christian, I have given you a lot to think about, but we must awaken and humble ourselves to God for he is the only one who will save us. Yes, we have put our faith in man and we have seen this is not where we are to put faith in for man will fail but God, he never fails!

The perfect government is coming and I hope very soon for we will have one king, our Lord Jesus and one kingdom here on earth and their will be no need for taxes, no health issues, no backbiting, no lies, no crime, no famine, no evil, no mistrust, no death and no sin.

Sounds good to be true? This is what we will receive when we are in the kingdom and their will be no voting, no slandering and no harsh words or broken promises and no politicians.

The kingdom will be a theocracy ruled by Jesus and not by man for we have seen from the time of Saul in the Old Testament that this type of system failed.

In closing, vote your conscience and consider the points I have said when voting and if your candidate gets in, look back at his or her track record and see if they did what they said or if they provided you with just “lip service”.

You have a vote, you have a conscience and if you want change, then be the change and pray! There is a hope that is in Jesus and always remember 2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV) 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
