God Bless America???
We hear it from the politicians, from ministers, from our elected officials, but, come on, really why should God Bless America?
Our lesson is based today on Psalm 19:7-14 for I hope, this will provide insight on why America is not blessing God first!
Let’s review the following verses before questions arise:
The law of the Lord is perfect,
refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right,
giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant,
giving light to the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is pure,
enduring forever.
The decrees of the Lord are firm,
and all of them are righteous.
They are more precious than gold,
than much pure gold;
they are sweeter than honey,
than honey from the honeycomb.
By them your servant is warned;
in keeping them there is great reward.
But who can discern their own errors?
Forgive my hidden faults.
Keep your servant also from willful sins;
may they not rule over me.
Then I will be blameless,
innocent of great transgression.
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart
be pleasing in your sight,
Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
How can God bless America when America does not adhere to the commandments, laws, statutes and ordinances of the Bible? The Bible is very clear that God hates sin and you must agree that we are a very sinful nation who has not humbled themselves nor prayed, seek God’s face and turned from our wicked ways.
Does the above not sum up of all so many who believe evil is good and good is evil? Where are the men and women who stand with God and if you are one, are you willing to die for Christ?
This week marks a very sad happening of a young man who carried forward his Christian faith to colleges and universities throughout the USA and, because of his testimony was brutally assassinated by a young man because he did not agree with his words and thoughts.
America, is this the land of the free and the home of the brave or have we become so barbaric that when we disagree that we kill the other person? How can God bless America when we would rather sin and be a part of the world. Why make waves and rock the boat?
As we review the life and legacy of Charlie Kirk, I view him as a Christian who spoke of his faith and belief in his and our savior, Jesus Christ and that his life was taken all so quickly.
Mr. Kirk leaves behind a wife and two very young children for which they will be left not knowing their father. Why does God allow this happening, I can’t answer but I am reminded in Job where Job beckons God and then God begins to question Job on questions that no one can answer.
We, as a people, may not agree with Mr. Kirk’s views nor our President’s views for that matter, but we are all of God’s creation and there is only one, our creator, who gives life and takes life.
Since God knows the number of hairs on our head, then God knows when we will live and then die, but He is the only one who knows all things for He created all things.
I turn to Luke 12: 4-5 where Jesus says not to be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more, but to fear him who, after killing the body, has power to throw you into hell.
As you ponder on this, would this not bring chills to you knowing that God has the power to throw you into hell and be confined forever and ever.
On the other hand, I commend those who take a stand for our Lord and are not afraid to speak God’s word nor write about his Biblical teachings.
Pastors can disagree about various points in the Bible, but they are here to share the Good News about our savior and the gift he has provided all which is eternal life in the kingdom.
Charlie Kirk did what many so-called Christians have not done which is to acknowledge me before men so the Son of Man will acknowledge him before the angels of God. But he who disowns me before men will be disowned before the Angels of God.
As a Christian, I believe that the person who did this was demon or Satan possessed—Why? A couple of thoughts—In Job 2:2, The Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?” Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming through the earth and going back forth in it.”
Next, in John 13:27 it says,As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, “What you are about to do, do quickly.”
Turn to Luke 22:3 as a dual witness: Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.
Is it not possible that Satan and his minions can not enter into people as shown above? There are examples where demons have possessed people and where Jesus and his disciples had the power to cast out demons for the demons knew the power of Jesus Christ.
I can not look into minds of others, but our creator can and Jesus teaches us about anger and murder in Matthew 5:21-22 (NIV)
“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sisterwill be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘Raca, is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

- Matthew 5:22 The Greek word for brother or sister (adelphos) refers here to a fellow disciple, whether man or woman; also in verse 23.

Is this not the norm in America today where a weapon is used to settle a dispute? Ugly and distasteful words are used to incite riots, fights and eventually bloodshed where neighbor disagrees with neighbor.
Skin color and race have played heavily in our society and the disagreements have turned into innocent bloodshed. This is very evident of the video showing a white young lady killed by a black man in Charlotte, NC and the black man admitting to killing her.
The Old Testament states clearly that man should be put to death in a very quick way. Please refer to my column on the Thou shalt not murder column and the 6th commandment from God.
Republicans and Democrats should be ashamed for booing when a moment of silence was offered from a fallen Christian.
If you don’t believe fellow Christian that there is a war going on between Satan and God, then you best WAKE UP and get your head out of the sand for Satan’s time is short and he knows it and will take as many as he can with him.
Christian pastor, I urge you to awaken your flock and prepare them for the fight for the fight is on and we best stand for we have been told the consequences if we do not make a stand.
Young people today are looking for answers and the only way to find them is through the Bible. Where are the pastors today who open and provided the word of God as 100% true, inspirational and that Jesus was not just a good man, but the way, the truth and the life.
To me, Charlie Kirk was a wake-up call for America to Bless God first and do what David followed for the law revives us to be more Christ-like not world like, makes us all wiser, gives joy to the heart for we know what God expects us to do, gives light to the eyes and not darkness, warns us of life’s dangers, and rewards us with the blessings from God.
We speak about light and darkness and unfortunately our country is full of darkness for we have taken the path of “where evil is good and good is evil” and we have those who are out to silence us whether with threats, evil accusations, and plots to kill you, but we are to remember that this is nothing new for Jesus experienced the same from those who viewed him as a threat or demon to society.
Man’s type of laws doesn’t work—God’s laws are perfect, but man thinks he has the perfect way to do things and frankly, we have too many stiff-necked folks who know better than God.
America, God is giving us Christians a wake-up call that Satan is real and that Satan knows his time is short before he heads to the pit.
We have those in America who hate Christ and hate Christians whether it be in politics, the press or in our society, so we must stand vigilant and grow closer to our Lord and lean on him to protect us from the evil one.
In closing, remember Psalm 19:14 for it says—May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer!
Would you change the way you live if you knew that every word and thought would be examined by God first? Be forewarned for it will be!
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
