The Millstone

Good day to each of you reading this column on a very important story that needs to be brought to light.

First, Happy Birthday America and to all who live here, let us take a knee and thank God where we live. People from all over the world come to the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave and we, all so many, consider this day just another day.

How would you like to be exiled to Elba or Cuba or Russia? No thank you for we live in the greatest country in the world and only by divine guidance have we been given to live in such a country and in such a time.

Take some time to thank God for living in America for there is no other place in the world that I want to be.

No jokes this time for I want to touch on a story that recently happened in Columbia, SC– https://www.wltx.com/article/news/local/children-severe-burns-columbia-house-fire-criminal-investigation/101-1de50ceb-f84d-4d4f-ae2d-476d8e30ab90

Three children remain in critical condition after a north Columbia house fire. Police say their mother has been charged.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Three children are in critical condition and their mother is in custody after a house fire in north Columbia left all three children in critical condition while no adults were at home.
Columbia-Richland Fire Chief Aubrey Jenkins said they responded to a home on Floran Street shortly before 9:30 p.m. Monday.
When crews arrived, Jenkins said they said they found smoke coming from the home and had to forced entry through the front door where they immediately encountered heavy smoke and rapidly deteriorating interior conditions. Jenkins said the fire was located in the front of the home.
During a search, Jenkins said firefighters located three children. The children were brought outside, where firefighters provided immediate medical care for severe burn injuries before transferring them to Richland County EMS.
Officials said the children were transported to a local hospital and later transferred to the JMS Burn Center in Augusta for additional treatment, where they remain in critical condition.
Deputy Police Chief Melron Kelly said the children, ages 6, 4 and 2, were in the home alone when crews responded to the fire. No adults were in or around the home, he said.
Kelly said deputies located the mother of the children, 28-year-old Zana Oden, who is now in custody on Tuesday afternoon less than a mile from the home. Kelly said Oden not only did not come forward after learning of the fire, but she also attempted to evade law enforcement on Tuesday afternoon by hiding in a closet before they took her into custody.
Oden is charged with three counts of unlawful conduct towards a child.
When asked about the general condition of the children aside from their injuries from the fire, Kelly said police are investigating. Jenkins added that the children were living in "deplorable" conditions inside the home, including a cockroach infestation.
Kelly said police are attempting to contact the biological fathers of the children, and have spoken with one of the fathers at this point.
The investigation is being conducted by the Columbia Police Department, the Columbia-Richland Fire Department Fire Marshal's Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

Here is what Matthew 18:6 says: “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

I take nothing but sadness from this article for here are 3 innocent children who are now severely burned and had been left alone with no adults at home in “deplorable” conditions inside the home, including a cockroach infestation.

When reading the above verse, here is what said that children are trusting by nature. They trust adults, and through that trust their capacity to trust God grows. God holds parents and other adults who influence younger children accountable for how they affect these little one’s ability to trust. Jesus warned that anyone who turns little children away from faith will receive severe punishment.

If the facts are true and if both the female and male father of one of the children are found guilty, then God will deal with them with severe and I mean severe punishment.

How can a judge grant either of these folk’s bail? Where are the compassion and remorse? Here is another example of the times we live in and here is another story to bring to light—

According to https://www.yahoo.com/news/us/articles/four-old-south-carolina-child-165241109.html?fr=sycsrp_catchall

Authorities say the parents of a 4-year-old child at the center of a major search in Aiken County have been arrested in connection with her disappearance and presumed death.

In an announcement he called the hardest he’d made in his 36 years in law enforcement, Sheriff Marty Sawyer said on Saturday that the parents of Javeayah Harris were arrested in connection with her death even as the search for her body continues.

“It’s the outcome that we all feared, and sadly it’s the outcome that we must face,” he said.

The sheriff said 23-year-old Johmarea Harris and Michilae Herring were arrested and charged with homicide by child abuse and filing a false report, with more charges possible.

Sawyer said investigators now believe Javeayah had been dead for at least a month before her disappearance was reported to 911 on June 30.

“It was already too late to save Javeayah,” he said.

However, authorities said the search became a recovery and criminal investigation when a separate off-site team determined she was no longer in the neighborhood.

The sheriff’s office announced on Friday that it was scaling back operations in the neighborhood where Javeayah went missing, but vowed the search wouldn’t end until the child was found.

Authorities said teams are now searching a specific area of interest in an effort to find the body, but declined to say where. The sheriff said the location is not in Aiken County.

The news comes after a massive multi-agency search that included the FBI and had already spanned more than 5,000 acres. With the search focus shifting, FBI Special Agent in Charge Kevin Moore said the investigation is now one seeking justice for Javeayah.

“Because that’s what she deserves,” he said.

This little girl is now in Heaven with Jesus and the angels presiding over her as she is safe in His Hands and the fate of the parents lies with God.

As a Christian, I believe in each word of the Bible and I know that Jesus words of placing a millstone around the neck and dropped to the bottom of the sea.

This is all so sad but, wait here is the ending—This little girl is in the arms of Jesus and will be there for eternity and the parent’s fate—the judgement day before Jesus.

I read and hear about stories like these on a daily basis and ask myself, if we only were to abide by God’s laws… how much easier life would be and instead of receiving the curses, we would receive his blessings.

For those of you who do not believe in the death penalty and especially for you who is a Christian, how can you defend your position when the Bible clearly states “Do not Murder.”

Where are the Christian judges who don’t pass this on and have the person who committed these heinous crimes executed?

I will defend each word of the Bible which includes the death penalty for each syllable is very clear and remember, this is not a thought or idea from God, but a command and for one to say they don’t believe in the death penalty, then are in direct violation with the word of God.

When God commands, he is not asking or pleading but commanding us to follow his every word.

The above parties can make excuses to the judges and to the jury if this happens, but death will come and when it does, what does one say when their life is in review with the King?

Such an alarming thought for we are talking about eternity—Dwell on eternity, I bet you can’t!

Accountability begins in the home and responsibility begins with each of us including the judges that preside over us. Where are you O judge that follows every word of the Bible and executes what the Bible hath said.

We are told that those in power over the people will be held in higher accountability, so what will you say when you stand before the King?

As I close, I am reminded of Acts 28:26-27 & as a double witness Isaiah 6:9-10 “‘Go to this people and say,“You will be ever hearing but never understanding;you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.”27 For this people’s heart has become calloused;they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes.Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heartsand turn, and I would heal them.’[a] Acts 28:27 Isaiah 6:9,10

Have we become so calloused when we hear the above news stories? I hope not, but I believe many have and go about their business for it does not affect them.

Fellow Christian, it has affected me for I have eyes to see and ears to hear and will continue to write and pray to God for his healing of his people, you and I, and our country.

We are very close to the end of the age and very soon Jesus will return with trumpets blasting—Are you ready and is your oil filled as in the parable of the ten virgins?

America, we have had 250 years, glorious years and years of blessing, so the question must be asked Do we hear and never understand and Do we see but never perceive or will we turn and have God heal us so I don’t have to write stories like these and bring them to your attention.
