The Song Of The Three Children
Good day to each of you reading this column as it is my hope when the world is caving in, that life is just not worth it, that suicide may be the answer to your life, that finance troubles couldn’t get any worse, and that you are at the end of your rope and have no one to turn to, then read first and pray to God for God NEVER LEAVES YOU NOR WILL HE FORSAKE YOU and that mercy endures forever.
Before we begin, it’s that time for some humor—
My wife didn’t order anything from Amazon yesterday so the UPS guy knocked on our door to see if we’re okay.
Just text us when you are here, no need to knock and get the dogs involved.
When guests don’t leave, get out the Yoko Ono CD’s.
I started dating a weather girl, it’s nice to have a woman that’s wrong most of the time.
And, A new teacher was trying to make use of her psychology courses. She started her class by saying, “Everyone who thinks they are stupid, stand up!” After a few seconds, Little Larry stood up. The teacher said, “Do you think you are stupid, Larry?” “No ma’am, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself.”
I hope you have enjoyed and that the above have put a smile on your face and provided a laugh or two—Now to the good news of three young men who walked in the midst of the fire because they would not kneel to Nebuchadnezzar’s god.
Yes, this is found in the Apocrypha under the title for it gives us insight when we are in trouble and how we can face trouble.
In the opening verse, the three men are in the midst of the fire singing hymns to God and blessing the Lord—Hmm, what a wonderful way to face impending danger and divert from panic.
My mother use to say when she faced impending danger to ask the Lord to cover her and my dad in the blood of Jesus. I remember her saying this when they were in a car accident many years ago.
As we explore the song, please take notice of three men who were covered with the blood of Jesus in a fiery furnace and the prayer they uttered to the Almighty God to show the king and his people that there God was and is the greatest above all and there is no other beside you.
As Azarias stood still and began uttering this prayer, he began by blessing and praising God, then admitting their sins and the sins of their people and disobeying God’s commands and completing his prayer asking for abundant mercy, delivering them, and that your name may be glorified.
In the meantime, the king’s servants who threw them in the furnace had built a flame over 73 feet killing those feeding the fire.
As to the three men in the fire, they were visited by the angel of the Lord, who drove the blaze out of the furnace and made the middle of the furnace as a moist wind whistling through. The result, the fire did not touch, trouble or harm them.
Three young men who were spared by the Almighty did not sit idly but with one voice, praised, glorified and blessed God in the furnace.
Three men, one voice in unison, and the blessings they gave to the almighty in this perilous time for this is their prayer:
29 “Blessed art thou, O Lord, God of our fathers,
and to be praised and highly exalted forever;
30 And blessed is thy glorious, holy name
and to be highly praised and highly exalted forever;
31 Blessed art thou in the temple of thy holy glory
and to be extolled and highly glorified forever.
32 Blessed art thou, who sittest upon cherubim and lookest upon the deeps,
and to be praised and highly exalted forever.
33 Blessed art thou upon the throne of thy kingdom
and to be extolled and highly exalted forever.
34 Blessed art thou in the firmament of heaven
and to be sung and glorified forever.35 “Bless the Lord, all works of the Lord,
sing praise to him and highly exalt him forever.

sing praise to him and highly exalt him forever;
for he has rescued us from Hades and saved us from
the midst of the fire he has delivered us.
67 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his mercy endures forever.
68 Bless him, all who worship the Lord, the God of gods,
sing praise to him and give thanks to him,
for his mercy endures forever.”
Thirty eight (38) times three young men in a fiery furnace as one voice Bless the Lord and praise him for being our creator and being the “I AM” in all things both great and small, for all life whether it be the tiniest animal or the greatest fish, for God’s perfect creation, for the things that man must have to survive, for the climate, for the place that we live and the planet where we live, for men and women and for the times we were rescued from death.
Six times the writer says that the three men finish each blessing with And to be praised and greatly exalted or glorified forever in verses 28-33.
It is interesting to note in verses 28-33 that each verse with the exception of verse 29 begins with Blessed are you identifying the Lord God, his holy name, where he lives, what he sits on and where he is found.
Beginning in verses 34-65, Bless the Lord begins each verse as a command and ends with Sing praise to him and greatly exalt forever.
Folks, this is not a suggestion, this is a direct statement for when we pray, we pray to God and begin our prayer by praising him and exalting him or glorifying him as we come into his presence.
These three men were delivered from the burning fiery furnace for giving thanks to the Lord, for praising him and greatly exalting him and showing all that his mercy endures forever.
Nebuchadnezzar, the great king of his time, and his priests, council and his people heard, saw and said that the Lord God of Daniel is great and there is no 0ther beside you!
As I close, our author says it best, Bless him, all who worship the Lord, the God of gods, sing praise to him and give thanks to him,
for his mercy endures forever.”
John 14:1 (KJV) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
