Understanding God’s Laws – An Introduction
Good day to each and all of you reading about Understanding God’s Laws. Please follow with me as I utilize the following references from God’s word—

Now we have the basis or origin for Understanding God’s Laws—Let’s delve into our subject in depth. As we begin in our travels together, look at the verse chosen for the basis of Understanding God’s Laws—Turn to Psalms 1:2 (KJV) But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Do you delight in the law of the Lord? According to Strong’s exhaustive concordance, the word delight is used 51 total time in the Bible—50 times in the Old Testament and once in the New Testament—take a moment and turn to Romans 7:22 where the KJV version says: For I delight in the law of God, after the inward man. Delight (Psalms 1:2 KJV), according to Strong’s exhaustive concordance in the Hebrew & Aramic dictionary is chephets (khay’-fets) is a noun for pleasure, desire, request. Now if we delight in his law, when do we delight? This gets to the basic question– Do you read your Bible daily? Is your Bible collecting dust? Are you too busy each day? When you awaken in the morning, do you delight in his word or just too tired? We work 8+ hours daily, take care of kids, support our partner, get bombarded by bad news on the radio or TV, text or read the internet, run the kids to activities, chat with friends and neighbors, get the kids to bed, watch some TV and relax, go to sleep and begin the cycle the next day. Does this sum it up? On the go, in the road, no time for me, no relaxation time, problems, problems, problems and where is God when I need him? Does this hit home?
Do you read your Bible daily? Is your Bible collecting dust? Are you too busy each day?
I have a simple idea—Have you tried mediating in the Lord either day or night or both? Let’s break this down, do you read the Bible daily? Do you scan the Bible? Do you read the Bible or do you study the Bible? Are you refreshed in the word as you begin the day? As you read Romans 7:22, were you happy or had a desire inside that did not go away? Do you believe what II Timothy 2:15 (KJV) says: Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Are you just too busy to show thyself approved unto God? We have 24 hours daily, 60 minutes per hour and 7 days per week—Who gives you the air to breathe?
Let’s go back to meditate—the word meditate is used 14 times according to Strong’s exhaustive concordance—According to the Hebrew & Aramic Dictionary, hagah, haw-gaw’ or to murmur (in pleasure or anger) to ponder, imagine, roar, speak, study, talk or utter. As you read the book of Psalms, refer to Psalms 119:15 (precepts), Psalms 119:23 (statutes), Psalms 119:48 (commandments & statutes), Psalms 119:78 (precepts), Psalms 119:148 (thy word) Psalms 143:5 (thy works).
As we wrap up the initial lesson, Jesus put it best when he said in John 14:15 (KJV) If ye love me, keep my commandments. Are the commandments different than the laws of God? If they are, please describe a specific Biblical difference—not a manmade difference—It is my thought that there is no difference and that God’s son did not come to this earth to ;destroy his laws nor his father’s laws but to fulfil. Refer to Matthew 5:17 (KJV) that God’s laws are in effect today and Matthew 5:18 (KJV) confirms this statement. To those who wish to argue the above points, best of luck because this comes from the Bible and if you wish to argue with Jesus, be my guest—As a friend said to me, He said, I believe it and that settles it.
